Ravens
I dreamt a palace in the sky
Its silver doors were open wide
And though I longed to see within
I did not dare to go inside
For there were ravens circling all around
Ravens settling darkly to the ground
Staring wishing me away
Til at last they saw I was not staying
I dreamt of children in a field
Their silver voices filled the sky
And though I longed to dance and play
I did not dare to even try
For there were ravens circling all around
Ravens screaming til the joy was drowned
Laughing as they beat their wings
Til the children had to cease their singing
I dreamt a lover by a lake
His silver arms were open wide
And though i thought my heart would break
I did not sit down by his side
For there were ravens circling in the air
Ravens casting shadows on his hair
Staring down from up above
Who are they to sit and judge our loving
