A Distance There Is
Come in out of the rain thou sayest
你說，從雨中進來吧
but thou neer stepst aside
但你凝視著我，沒有挪開
And I am trappd
我被困於此
A distance there is...
你我遠隔如斯……
None, save me and the bodkin
無人拯救我
pitter-patter on the roof:
而那屋頂上如針的雨滴答作響……
Behold! - tis not the rain;
看！那不是雨
thence me it has to be
而恍若是我
I will not drink thy vintage wine, my dear;
我不飲你的陳年美酒，親愛的；
Thou hast heedd that I am of innocence,
你早明了到我的天真
yet thou letst thy lass into peril
卻讓你的愛人身處危險
Thou letst me be parched;
你令我枯萎；
My heart .......
My heart is of frailty, my pale skin is hued damask.
我的心脆弱不堪，我蒼白的皮膚泛上血色。

When thou thy tears hast hidden, 'Come back!', thou sayest 當你掩飾了你的淚，說，“回來！”
There I soon am to be
我立即出現於此
but how am I to run when my bones, my heart!
但怎麼能夠，我的身骨，我的心，
Thou hast me bereaft!
你令我痛失摯愛
But run thou sayest;
I run
但你叫我離開；於是我離開
And there and then I behold that a time will come when I again dead will be.
頃刻間我明白，死亡將再次降臨於我
Thou tellst me to leave without delay
你要求我要毫不猶豫地離開

I leave .........我離開.........
I leave with my bodkin and my tears in my hands;
我離去時手心裡是如針的雨，還有我的淚；
Lo! - the shadows, the sky - descending;
瞧啊！瞧這陰影，天空瞬時坍圮；
So by a dint of smite I gait ere I run and melt together with dusk.
恍若一次重擊，使我腳步蹣跚逃進晦暗暮色
In my mind in which is this event,
此情此景縈繞於心，
But it seems as if naught is to change anyway?!
恍然清醒沒有什麼能夠改變。
After all these years thou leftst me down inthe emotional depths
年復一年我早已被你拋在感情的深淵
The sombre soaked velvet-drape is hung upon me,
那憂鬱彷彿浸透的絲絨帷幔覆於我的心，
Turning my feelings away from our so ignorant world:
恍若蒙昧的世界離我遠去：
All the beatiful moments shared, deliberatlely pushd aside
所有共同分享的美好時刻，所有共同分享的美好時刻，卻被從容的拋棄
After all these years thou leftst me down in the emotional depths
畢竟這些年你讓我深陷情感之深淵

憂鬱的天鵝絨帷幔掛在我身上，
Turning my feelings away from our so ignorant world:
把我的感情從我們的愚昧的世界中抹去；
