My age is three hundred and seventy-two.
我已經372歲了。
I think, with the deepest regret,
我帶著深深的惆悵想起，
how I used to pick up and voraciously chew
我曾經如何結識並貪婪地咀嚼
the dear little boys that I met.
我所遇見的可愛的小男孩們。
I've eaten them raw, in their holiday suits,
我把他們生吃了，連帶著他們假日的盛裝。
eaten them curried with rice.
吃掉了他們啊，還拌著咖哩飯。
I've eaten them baked, in their jackets and boots,
我把他們燒烤後吃了，連帶著他們的夾克衫和小靴子。
and found them exceedingly nice.
還發現，他們好吃極了。
But now that my jaws are too weak for such fare,
但是現在我的下頜吃起這種食物來實在太吃力了，
I think it's exceedingly rude to do such a thing, when I 'm quite well aware
當我十分清醒的時候我在想，做著這種事情實在太過於粗魯了呢

So I contentedly live upon eels,
所以我現在心滿意足地以吃鱔魚為生啦，
and try to do nothing amiss,
並且盡量不要犯錯誤，
pass all the time I can spare for my meals.
為此我把所有從吃飯上可以省出來的時間，全部都花在
in innocent slumber like this.
像這樣無罪的睡眠中。

(More eels my lady?
我的小姐，鱔魚還要么？
Perhaps some bubble and squeak,
要不配點炸馬鈴薯和洋白菜，經典的英國節後剩菜，參考大年初四五。
or a little toad in the hole?
還是要配點布丁香腸？
A Lancashire Hot Pot, perhaps?
又或者配點蘭開夏郡砂鍋？ 其實就土豆燉羊肉）
That would be nice.
唔，那太好啦。
